Riding a six-game winning streak, their longest since 2014, the New York Knicks (31-27) will host the Charlotte Hornets (28-28) Tuesday night. Tip-off at Madison Square Garden will be shortly after 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Hornets-Knicks odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The Hornets still don't have many of their key players, with PG LaMelo Ball, SF Gordon Hayward and SG Malik Monk all sidelined. They lost four of their last five games, but are coming off a 109-101 win over the Portland Trail Blazers Sunday. The Hornets are 4-6 over their last 10 games.

The Knicks are the hottest team in the NBA right now. They were favored in only two of their last six games, too, so four of their wins were as underdogs. Their most recent victory was by a 122-112 count over the New Orleans Pelicans Sunday, which came after the Knicks upset the Dallas Mavericks by 8 points Friday.

The Knicks are searching for their seventh consecutive win against an injury-riddled team that has lost four of their last five games. This game strongly favors the Knicks, especially while at home.

Though I like a bet on the spread more, feel good about putting a small wager on the KNICKS (-225) to win straight up.

Against the spread (ATS)

New York is giving Charlotte 5.5 points at home, which is the most they've been favored by since March 4 against the Detroit Pistons. The Knicks were 6.5-point favorites and won 114-104.

More impressive than their six-game winning streak is the fact they've covered in nine straight games. They'll make it 10 Tuesday.

Over/Under (O/U)

The Knicks have the top defense in the NBA, limiting opponents to an average of 104.5 points per game. PF Julius Randle has been outstanding on both sides of the ball and he's capable of putting up 30 points any given night, as he has in his last four games.

The total has gone Over in five of New York's last six games. I like the OVER 207.5 (-115) on a modest total.
