LAS CRUCES – Polk State College forward Ishan White committed to New Mexico State on Thursday for the 2021-2022 season.

The 6-foot-7 prospect spent last season at Chipola College, where he averaged 11.1 points and 5.8 rebounds in just 12.3 minutes per game as a freshman. He then transferred to Polk State College, where he's set to play this season before making the move to New Mexico State the following year.

"Ishan White pledging to the Aggies will help move our program forward," Aggies head coach Chris Jans said. "We began targeting Ish from the first time we saw him as a freshman. He is blessed with high-level athleticism and a frame that makes him ready for this level. We are excited he elected to join our program."

White is a former three-star recruit who received an offer from Oklahoma State out of high school before deciding to take the JUCO route. He's a grown man who knows how to rock the rim with his emphatic dunks, and his relentless work on the glass is enough to wear any opponent down.

The Saint Stephen, South Carolina, native is also as efficient as they come. White shot 64.4 percent from the floor at Chipola College, and all but two of his 163 shot attempts came from inside the arc.

FOLLOW THE MADNESS: NCAA tournament brackets, scores, schedules, teams and more.

White will have to extend his range at the Division I level since his height won't allow him to play bully ball as effectively, but his freak athleticism is par for the course when looking at New Mexico State's recent additions.

White becomes the Aggies' second commit for 2021 after landing PHHoenix Prep's Kiran Oliver on Tuesday.
