Attending the Cavern City Renaissance Festival? Here's everything you need to know to enjoy it.

The inaugural Cavern City Renaissance Festival kicks off at 4 p.m. Sept. 30 and runs through 8 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Lake Carlsbad Beach Park.

Single day Early Bird adult tickets when purchased online are $15. Sales end Oct. 1. Single day Youth tickets are $10 when purchased online for those aged 6 to 12. Ticket prices do not include sales tax.

Donations can also be made to help support the event and benefit entertainment, security, decorations and other operation expenses.

For those over 13 years of age, tickets are $20 when purchased at the gate. And for those Festival goers who are in costume are $15 at the gate.

Children under 6 are free when accompanied by an adult.

Things to do and know

Artisan marketplace

Enjoy local and visiting vendors selling handmade and rare crafts and items. Fera Academy-Vito Glass will be on hand to demonstrate the process of handblowing glass and offering those items for sale. Destination DIY will offer Festival goers the opportunity to paint their own beer stein or goblet. Find hand roasted organic coffee and teas offered by Lunatic Coffee, and try your hand at axe throwing courtesy of Top Nock Archery.

All-day entertainment

Watch the Brethren of the Sunken Skull fight on the high water of the Pecos River at 6:45 p.m. On Sept. 30 and at 1:15 and 6:45 p.m. Oct. 1.

Live entertainment kicks off at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 30 with the Just Dance Waltsz.

At 6 p.m. the Cuatro the Great Comedy and Magic Show will begin. The public can watch them again at 12:30 p.m., 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Oct. 1.

Sea shanties and fire eating will be held at 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectively, both days.

Free parking

Parking at the Festival is free. Primary parking will be in the parking lot at the Beach and along the Pecos River.

Food and beverage

Milton's Brewing will be on hand for the Festival, alongside Steel Bender Brewyard from Albuquerque, Black Cock Brewery of Roswell and Hollow Spirits of Albuquerque.

Ruidoso's Noisy Water Winery will be serving up its fare as well.

Guests should also expect to see Pixie Mead of Carlton, Washington at the event.

Carlsbad's Tiki Tops and Grizzly Bear's Fudge and Lemonade will also have a presence at the Festival.

Outside food and beverage should be limited to necessary those necessary for medical purposes, special dietary needs and children's food/formula.

Also not allowed are coolers or ice chests.

Dress for ye' old times

Festival goers are encouraged to dress in period costumes, but it is not required.

Keep in mind, if you are carrying arms to "peace tie" them. Period arms should be secured in a holster protecting the blade and should not be removed from the holster. Arrows should similarly be secured.
