Border Patrol raids 3 stash houses, finds 134 migrants, $600K of meth

LAS CRUCES - The U.S. Border Patrol said they discovered 134 migrants inside three stash houses this week, including two in New Mexico. 

Border Patrol said that Alamogordo agents located 67 migrants in a Chaparral, New Mexico trailer on July 15. They said two of those migrants were unaccompanied children from Guatemala. Additionally, Border Patrol said agents found another 24 people inside a house in Vado, New Mexico, on July 14. 

Also on July 14, Border Patrol agents also said they discovered another 43 people — including one child — along with over 19 pounds of methamphetamine worth an estimated $635,200 at a house in San Elizario, Texas. 

The majority of the migrants were from Guatemala or Ecuador, according to Border Patrol.

The three unaccompanied children, all from Guatemala, were taken to the El Paso Central Processing Center, the news release said. The other 131 migrants were taken to Mexico. 

Border Patrol said the19 pounds of methamphetamine was taken out of circulation.
