'Star Trek's' Nichelle Nichols suffers stroke

Star Trek's Nichelle Nichols, 82, has suffered a stroke.

Her manager, Zach McGinnis, announced the news on Facebook on Thursday.

"Last night while at her home in LA, Nichelle Nichols suffered from a mild stroke," wrote McGinnis. "She is currently undergoing testing to determine how severe the stroke was. Please keep her in your thoughts."

Nichols played Lt. Uhura on the original Star Trek television series from 1966-1969 and reprised her role in six Star Trek films.

According to The Wrap, Nichols was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital and is resting after undergoing treatment and tests.
