Twana “Tony” Dwayne Drake, 81, of Flora Vista, NM, passed away on April 16, 2024, in Farmington, New Mexico. Born on October 13, 1942, in Knox County, Tennessee to Walter and Opal Drake. Tony's life was a testament to service and dedication.

Tony is survived by his beloved wife, Lorraine Drake, his son Kenneth Drake, and daughter-in-law Cari Drake. He was a proud grandfather to Ashlee Taylor (Bret Taylor), Deseree McDaugale (Tyler McDaugale), Alexis Drake, and great-grandchildren Makenna Taylor-Akers, Drake Adamson, Meyka Taylor, Colson Drake, and Tuscany McDaugale. He also leaves behind his beloved sister, Amanda Gibbs, and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Opal Drake.

Tony’s life journey was marked by unwavering commitment and service. After proudly serving in the Navy from 1960 to 1966, he continued his legacy of dedication by becoming a lifelong member of the Local 412 Plumber and Pipefitters Union. Tony attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. His passion for his craft led him to teach instrumentation, controls and pipefitting theory classes for a decade at New Mexico State University. In 1984, Tony founded an oil and gas company, Air Star Incorporated. A true servant leader, his later years were spent volunteering for the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office Foundation and the SO Reserve Deputy program. Tony was also member and graduate of both Leadership San Juan (2012) and Leadership New Mexico CORE program.

Tony's memory will forever be cherished by all who knew him. His legacy of service, dedication, and love will continue to inspire and uplift those whose lives he touched.

A rosary will be recited beginning at 6pm, Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at French Funeral Home located at 7121 Wyoming Blvd NE Albuquerque, NM 87109.

A mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at 9:00 AM at Risen Savior Catholic Church located at 7701 Wyoming Blvd NE Albuquerque, NM 87109. The interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:30 PM located at 501 N Guadalupe St Santa Fe, NM 87501.
